Spanish composer and pianist Andrés Barrios, recently nominated for the 2025 Latin Grammy Awards, presents an inspiring master class exploring his distinctive blend of flamenco, jazz, and contemporary music. Through live demonstrations, student and faculty participation, and open discussion, Barrios will offer a deep look into his creative process, rhythmic vocabulary, and harmonic approach, illustrating how tradition and innovation can merge to shape a distinctive musical voice.
The session will feature student performers from Berklee’s Contemporary Spanish/Flamenco Ensemble and Piano Flamenco Jazz Lab, directed by Berklee faculty member Olivia Pérez-Collellmir.
This master class is made possible through the collaboration between Festival Paco de Lucía Mallorca—which has the institutional support of the Paco de Lucía Foundation—and Berklee Global. It is part of the festival’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent through the Festival Paco de Lucía Mallorca Young Talents Scholarship, while celebrating the creative legacy of Paco de Lucía.
